Just read this on mudclub.

This is probably one of the longest routes that used to be available to us. When combined with the BOAT from Neath you could drive from the Brecon Beacons Visitors center almost to the coast only touching on a couple of miles of tarmac. I have done it a couple of times and it was a GREAT day out.

The problem is that since NERC it has effectivly been closed to us but there is hope to get it back BUT YOUR HELP IS NEEDED.

There has just been set up a Mid Wales Off Roading Forum which is chaired by the Dyfed Powys Police Inspector responsible for the area and attended by CRAG, GLASS, BBNPA, CCW, Powys County Council, Ceredigion County Council, TRF – possibly LARA, Elan Valley Trust, FCW etc.

The next meeting is in June and user evidence is needed. It will take you 10-15 minutes to fill in the form (link below) and then the price of a stamp to send it off.

The police are favouring our viewpoint at the moment having recinded several S59s despite BBNP saying there is no MPV rightes

Nice one Dadba.
Sadly though its a lane i've never driven except to get to the visitor centre. I'll have to have a look and see if that could count as user evidence.

this came up a couple of months ago. i spoke to this mark then. but he didnt want to really push it and advertise locally for user statements in fear of getting the greenies backs up

i live in coelbren (look on multimap) .almost right on the sarn and have access to everyone who used to use the sarn for bikes , trucks , and everything. most are either not into trucks or some of the very old people havent done so for donkeys years.

this mark only wanted to advertise in 4x4 magazines so he is missing most of the people who used the sarn for many years. the locals

i offered to help with loads of local statements but mark felt it was not nessesery. he prefered to run a small add in national 4x4 mags where only a hand full of readers actually used the sarn. i doubt many even heard of the sarn at all

i know he was doing something. but in my oppinion he was doing it all wrong ..... not asking the locals

Mark is only up the road from me. Don't know if it has any bearing but he has what you might call a vested interest so surprised he isn't casting his net wider:

When I get a quiet minute I'll have a look at the route...

Team Wales, sounds like we need to find it, drive it, record it (including Fugawi track) and see if we can get to this meeting.
