ive had sally back for over 2 weeks now ..... and shes fuffing fantastic to drive , shes had a new windscreen fitted and a new stereo ( starter motor next job ) , i absolutely love driving her now , i went to otley today and she didnt miss a beat , beautifull smooth drive , ive finally worked out the best settings for the gearbox :doh , its not just what setting you use , its how you press the gas pedal :doh...... i blew off a fiesta up a hill too !!! :D,

tomorrow im taking some friends to otley , so sally will have a total of 6 people in , so we will see how she copes , but i have every confidence in her

THANKYOU VERY MUCH FRIENDS :thumb2:clap

Nice one Pete. Itll be a great test with the 6 people-get the engine under some strain!

check your coolant Pete thats all, might have used a bit with the engine swap etc, also check the oil. with the fluid changes during the engine swap, id expect to have to top up a little...

all gauges reading normal clive , but to be fair sally was under a lot of load going up that long hill

yeah but still, check the fluids, gauge can still stay normal even if fluids are low, its when the bottles empty or nearly empty things start to smell, then the gauge goes...just a thought, easy one to rule out.

Check all fluid levels as others have said, and fan belts tension etc, but more than likely the smell was components getting hotter than they have for a long time due to the prolonged load.

yeah..I do wonder if its just a bit of oil/gunk burning away?
