yes guys, i'm back from a truly shitty crappy horrid weekend seeing my grandad....who now officially hates me:D:augie

i genuinely missed you all

i'll explain, basically my phone stopped working, screen again, also the gears went on my bike, so i had genuinely nothing to do, exept listen to music in the car, taken dad's laptop, but grandad wouldn't let my plug it in:down: so went out on my bike, got shouted at be everyone as i was cycling on the road....do bikes go on path???dont think so:rolleyes:, bloody old people:rolleyes: so just ended up yelling at everyone in a heavy Scottish accent i do when i'm angry and using hand signals if you know what i mean:augie

dad came down on Saturday in his MX5, Friday night i slept on the bed in the spare room....think it was made out of bricks:clap

as i said, dad came down, which was pretty cool, grandad said to me as a joke, 'so boy, u got yourself a woman yet, i said no, as i'm not mentioning Zenka as he hates Polish people, doesnt like them coming to this country:( rasism if you ask me!:nono:mad:, anyways, after i said 'no', dad said, 'what about that Polish lass Zenka':doh:doh:doh:doh i thought AGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!! SH1T!!!!:doh:doh:doh:doh

dad didnt know about grandad's views so wasn't his fault to be fair.......now grandad wont speak to me nor accept me in the house without giving me crap or a frosty reception....their on i inhabited the Meriva, even slept in it last night

anyways, we left grandad's at 12PM, dad left earlier

so happy to be home, Layburn is such a boring dull place, and i rally missed you all and Zenka too, couldn't even phone her as my phone is buggered and i don't know her number to phone with mum's phone,

but she's with me now:naughty:D:D:D:D, as we picked her up on the way home, never been so happy do see her, finally someone who's not family and is fun lol

it's nice to be home with my stuff and friends again, only way i can describe my grandad's is 'sole destroying' i'm never going again that's for sure, if i ever did it would be when i'm driving and i'd take either Jack or Zenka, my best friends, as it wouldnt be to layburn:eek:

Sorry i did not go well but to Cheer you up we all missed you,and i'm sure everyone will agree(i hope) otherwise i might be in trouble.Ha Ha.

rustygates.

The sacrifices made by Polish people during the second world war

I am quite surprised at your Grandad's attitude towards Polish people what short memories people have.

During the second world war the Polish People fought on our side in the UK in all three services and in Russia against the Germans with a very small number who were conscripted into the German Army when Poland was Annexed .

They lost more Soldiers fighting for the Allied Forces as a proportion of their population than any other nation on the Allied side. A lifelong friend of my late mothers was a Polish POW who remained in the UK after the war and became a Farmer and Station Master at Leek. He worked right up until his 80's and died a couple of years ago. He never claimed benefit in his life and all his Sons are hard working Brits.

some of the old people are like that imo alf garnets of the world:lol

i suppose as each generation is born and grow older making room for the next genaration it will be less so

indeed, i love the Polish, always very friendly, had a few polish friends at school, my biology teacher was even polish......one of the best, kind, and helpful teachers i've ever had.....so much so, i used to stay on until 5:30PM every Friday to help her tidy up and prepare for Monday, going to contact her and see if she remembers me:D

think i annoyed him more when i turned up the radio, bear in mind zenka lent me some CDs by polish artists:augie

anyways, got a few pics to upload

Can I assume it is your grandad from your Mum's side:nenau

I am soon to be a Grandad for the first time... about 4 weeks, and if I were to treat my grandchild like that...:augie:augie

If he doesn't like the Polish, then what year was he born, ie was he involved in the last War, or is he younger than that?
Is he in his 70's or 80's?

Anyway...
On more important matters, welcome back.:thumb2

Welcome back Ryan, did Zenka miss you? Rick

Thanks mate:thumb2 yes, she did, had a feeling she did when she came running out when we pulled up, and i was hugged to the extent my vital organs nearly got squeezed out :lol:lol:lol:lol

nice having a good friend

seen a white 97 maverick commercial and a 94 SWB Terrano too, blue with a white rear door:) this was in Layburn, also seen black over silver 54 plate 3.0 sport,:naughty

nice to have my own bed again, last night have been the back seat of the Meriva.....but saying that, Vauxhall haven't really failed on making it a cozy car, would of been better if i could of put the seats down but the dog's bed was in the boot, but saying that, the back seats were ok lol, just had a pillow wedged up against the door and a sleeping bag
sorted
