Pissed a woman off as her kid ran into our car with it's bike and I yelled at the kid, so the mum yelled at me... aye, Bring it on bitch:augie

all i was doing was listening to my music on the USB flashdrive untill i felt the car move and heard a bang/scrape:eek::eek:

so she came to the window, and yelled at me, telling my i cant yell at her kid like i did, i said well youre bloody kid shouldnt of hit my car!, this is when things started getting really quite nasty, couldn't even get out the car as she was standing so close, luckily the meriva has heavy doors so just pushed her, i went into full blown Scottish mode yelled at her, she yelled back, i checked the meriva's door, a wee mark, still made my blood boil:augie was a bunch of tourist their father stepped in and threatened me, i went for him, eventually they just gave up and pissed off, Christ, never been in a domestic like that before, bit shaken but ok;) some holiday makers just think they own the place, kids have no respect, and they weren't expecting my to turn like i did i don't think, think is, i'm extremely protective over our vehicles

best of it was, our neighbor across the road stated clapping and yelled AYE, WELL DONE RYAN!:D

i'm not a vicious person, unless i need to be, their is shortened version of this on facebook, thought it'll be better if my parents didn't know it all, they'd of wanted me to back out.....which i do not ;)

did you yell at him before to warn him he was getting close. or after he hed hit the car

After it hit the car, I didn't know the kid was their untill the bang, was listening to my music quite loud

Well done Ryan, parents today have been conditioned by SS to be complete and utter pratts, accepting no responsibility for their off spring, you could of course taken their reg and reported it to the police to get their name and address then threaten to sue them for damage, Rick

Yes, it was a group of 5, walking, no car with them, I know what theyre doing, they'll be staying down the road in some holiday cottages. Good thing is, it didn't turn nasty as in violence, I thought when the man stepped in, it would of as he had ver aggressive behavior, as if it had all I needed to do is grab the old torsion bar I keep around the side of the house for such matters.

Do not mess with a 17 year old scottish lad who has a hidden attitude and Terrano parts.

I get the impression that you were stationary at the time Ryan, is that correct? Rick

That was what I though, so Darril come on and agree Ryan was right, the mum should be responsible for her child if need be if she cannot control it the child should be on reins, Rick

agreed :thumbs

if was one of my kids i would have shouted at them and made them apologise

good lad. Stand your ground.

So how would Ryan or - anybody else this happened to - go about getting the parents to cough up for the repair? What if it was a decent sized crease instead of a wee mark?

if the child is on a bike u may need more than reins:D im sure u wont agree with me but if one of mine was hit by car my thoughts would shit what just happened then just get to the kid. would not matter if it was mine or not then someone shouting out the window would piss me off:)

Aye, the car is fine, I'll get a pic of the mark, tbh, it'll probably polish out, but that's not the point, if they apologised I'd of said look, its ok, these things happen, but the fact the kit just homage me a dirty look and went off, theats what made me roll down the windowvand yell,, I mean they knew I was in the car, theyd of heard the music in it as it was a quite street

they weren't hit by a car tho, they rode into the car while it was stationary, engine off and just radio on

I then got back in the car and continued listening to me music, they started yelling abuse as they Walked away, so i just held my hand on the horn so shut them up, luckily the nearby neighbors knew what was going on, my dad was out and mum was in the shower:thumb2

Well on this occasion Ryan I agree with you :D
However it's very easy to over react in such occasions, especially as I suspect you were probably in a world of your own enjoying your sounds. Then bang, Shock, and you jump etc , red mist reaction follows etc '
Any road up, as Rick says, the kids need a clip round the ear if they didn't say sorry themselves
When my son was about 14 he had a spectacular crash into the back of a new Zafira  He was on his BMX doing bmx type nonesense and it all went a bit Pete Tong. He "landed" his trick right on the poor sod's rear quarter, taking out the rear lights and putting a good size pedal scrape down the tail gate :doh
My son peeled himself off the floor and dripping in blood went to find the owner.
Explained his cock up and the owners tended his wounds. After a father to father discussion I settled his damages via my house insurance 3rd party liability cover thingy. My son had a job in a bike shop at the time and was paying off my excess for a few weeks till I let him off the rest :D
Parenting is about building respect for others and self reliance too.
as we like to say , give your kids 2 things, ROOTS, and WINGS.
Well done Ryan, but leave the torsion bar mate, it's too heavy for combat :lol

Yes, that's all I done, thing is the parents just walked past pretending they didn't notice......that's what pissed my off and caused me to roll down the window:D.....holiday makers pah!

Thing is, the large families in this area tend to be Nob heads, don't know why, just seem to be :augie
