hello all,i am a newish member and my sole purpose of being here is because i have recently got a t2.
i had a zx running on wvo for many years so i do know what i am doing but not with a t2.
i want any of you who run on wvo to help me run mine please.
i have just had a trip out and covered 340mls and put 26ltr of neat wvo through it and no trouble.
all pointers will help me please from you who do it,and what have you done to do it.
so far i have put an inline filter before the main one.

I tried my '94 swb T2 on wvo for the first time a couple of months ago, mixed it roughly half & half with diesel, did nothing to it (even the banjo filter isn't fitted at the moment), went like a dream apart from a distinct odour a la chip shop from the exhaust.
Going to try straight wvo next.

keep us posted on here as there must be other who use it.thanks for the fast reply.

Still to build up enough WVO collection to cover the T2's thirsty habits so I also run on SVO. In the winter time I add up to 20% petrol to thin and lob it in, can be a touch lumpy on start up but I have the hand throttle on mine so I just increase the revs a little to keep it all tickityboo.

Haven't modded anything unless you count replacing the fuel filter and removing the mini filter from the pump banjo bolt (I was going to clean it, but I dropped it getting it out :doh)

Oh, and I replaced the fuel line from above the rear wheel forward as the old one was letting in air when the oil was a bit thick, they have a habit of rusting through down there and a new line is pretty easy to fit, still intend on running a complete one front to back as I've had the odd seep from the join when the clip wasn't tight enough.

i am lucky enough to be collecting more than enough wvo to feed mine.in the winter it takes a lot longer to cold filter it and being away for a long time i have to crash some out fast to cover the amount i use,so have 2 final filters set up.

Correction to the above, I ran mine on SVO (straight veg oil, with 50% diesel), not WVO (waste vegetable oil), €4.99 for 5l in Mercadona near Malaga.

Make sure your getting the water out of the WVO or the truck will soon start to be unhappy, this is how I get it out of mine;

I've got a little WVO station in the back garden in a little wendy house where I tend to all that I've collected haha

But as already said you'll never have enough to keep constantly feeding the T2

I'm using 1l Bottles of KTC Veg at the moment from Poundland, nice and easy to pour into the tank without fannying around with funnels etc

i run on svo 100% rapeseed oil from bookers £19.62/20l i usualy put 40l in mixed with £5 unleaded and £15 diesel each week. then if it drops below 1/2 way on the fuel guage i add 20l more veg oil. she runs fine on that apart from needing a bit of choke on cold mornings. i reckon this saves me about £30-£40 per week!!! oh, i change the fuel filter every 6 months now too, defo worth it though

pretty sure the veg oil in bookers is soya based.

aha theres different types the "chefs kitchen" stuff in the blue and cream tins is 100% rapeseed ( with a stabaliser agent that they all have), its about 20p more than the soya stuff but she seems to run better on it?! just dont go buying it from hull as they dont get much in and i want it:thumb2

beware too, i bought some ktc stuff in a plastic tub wrapped in cardboard, the writing was chinese but it was on special so i bought some and she ran like crap on it. stay away from it!!!!

Pretty sure the ones in cream tins in my local booker are soya too.

they maybe are at yours but these say rapeseed oil under the ingredients. so its probably horse then anyway!! oh its "chefs larder" too

here it is. IF my first picture attachment has worked:doh

I run mine on KTC GM soya oil from Costco, 88p per litre last time I got some.
This last week I went for the 10% petrol method and it's been fine. I used to do 50/50 to 80/20 diesel depending on the weather. I have been doing this for the last year and over 16,000 miles - no problems for me.

Soya makes no difference my experience, or the E990 Anti Foaming Agent that they all seem to contain

il check in morning, its a bit dark now to go rummaging in my scrapmetal heap:naughty
