Question, 2001 Terrano 2, 5 door, 2.7TDi Auto.

Some of you may know the history of this vehicle, the running boards were removed because of quite a bit of welding on the N/S sill. I have only just got it from a family member and he said that the that the garage said they wanted £150 to 'make up a bracket'. I thought that it was the chassis that needed the work, but now I just think the running boards were rusted through?

I have just had a look at both sides of the chassis and can see three in tact mounting per side with two threaded bolt holes per mount. Is that the correct amount of points for running boards?

If so, has anyone got a pair to sale?

Sorry for the terrible picture, there are two bolts on each side of the steps, so 4 bolts in total and 2 arms connecting to the side steps :thumb2

You will find that the mention of side steps on here set off the Manly mating call of "Gay Gay"....

Having said that, some of us are more in touch with our sexuality, and can cope with a few people thinking that they are gay, as we actually quite like them...:lol

The upshot of this, is they often come up for sale, as people rush to get them off, to make their truck look more Manly...:lol

There are 3 mounts, one each front and back, and one in the middle.

Fairly sure I didn't have the middle ones? :nenau

Mine definitely does, as I have the aluminium ones, and they would be too week over that sort of span.

You can see the middle one in this picture when I was repairing the infill panel

I have several sets here, £20 a set plus carriage, I can take pics mainly stainless with alli plates, Rick

Had to do a screenshot to make it work :doh

Only 2 mounts on my dodgy Chinese side steps :lol

I can definitely see three fresh places on the chassis with two threaded bolt holes in each. I've not got a clue what the running boards are supposed to look like. But with some short/young people to get it, they would be a help rather than gay :kissy

Solarman216 - a photee would be nice, def fit a LWB 2001? Are they original equipment? Could you include the fixing bolts etc? What would the carriage be to IP6 9HG ?

While I've got your attention, does mine have a cat in the exhaust system?

Sorry for so many questions, I just want to crack on and sort them out :thumb2

Yeah.. Keep telling yourself this, people try to justify sidesteps all sorts of ways :augie but don't feel pressured, nobody is judging you :sly

Nah I'm only kidding, erm if I'm not mistaken all the terranos are CATless

So seems my steps only had two fixing points on my old steps I suggest you get one off rick :thumb2

I did a post on how to solve that problem very easily and cheaply a while ago, that did not involve drilling holes in the aluminium tread area.

Ah the old Chinese GAY 2 bracket steps, now they are gay Alex :augie.
Mine are the MANLY 3 bracket type... you know, the real thing :lol:lol

Mind the steps are nothing in comparison to a gay rear bumper :lol:lol

I got the newer side step where they bolt into the alli not on slides

How are you getting on with the running steps Solarman? I'll have a set please if you can include the fixing bolts etc that will be a bonus :thumb2

What sets do you have? Style, condition etc? Delivery costs?

I have these available, will have to get prices as I usually use myhermes but they are too long for them, Rick
