Ask me at the weekend, got to take mine off for welding work.

I think they are metric fine M10x1.25
Anybody know if that's right?

I think that the front recovery hook is bolted on with m12 x 1.25, so why shouldn't the side steps be the same.
Just a thought:nenau

EDIT:-
The advantage of having your car in the integral, garage, they are smaller than M 12, so looks like M10

Because the heads are some and some 15 and 17mm. 15mm has got to be too small for an M12 hasn't it?:nenau

mine are 14 mm head 10 mm bolt 1.5 pitch, just been out to workshop to get one took off over the WE, Rick

That's just standard metric M10 pitch then.
Thought they were finer than that but happy if they're not.
Will go and see now.

Put mine back on at the weekend and I'm one bolt short. If they are standard M10 I will have one in the shed somewhere. :thumbs

Well, you were right about the 14mm head (rather than the 15mm I said), but they are definitely not 1.5mm pitch.
Found a 1.25 pitch bolt in my box of crap, knew it was there but as it had a 14mm head I thought it was smaller than M10. 1.5 pitch doesn't fit, I tried.
Still got the mindset of working with 1/2" and 9/16" spanners and UNC and UNF. Working with those sizes I can pick up the right spanner every time. On my Mav I usually have the entire toolkit emptied looking for the right size.
