Delivered to DUNLOP at Birmingham today & they told me there's a Global tyre shortage

Anybody in the tyre industry or in the know to shed some light on it

Would explain why www.camskill.com is always out of stock these days

As for tyre shortage I went into the norths biggest tyre wholesalers on monday and they had next to nowt for my Vito, 4-5 brands were on back order!!!!

I don't know about rubber shortage, I was in Wickes the other day and noticed the price of copper pipe seems to have doubled since the last time I bought some.:nenau

Are we getting low on resources?
On the news this morning: even getting low on exclusive handbags with a limit of 1 per customer.

If ever there is over production, eg too much bread,
limit it to a maximum of 2 loaves per customer, and guess what?, nearly every customer will buy 2 even if they don't need them, and then go back in to buy some more.:doh

If we had gone in with USA instead of Europe, what would have been the consequences?

Would we all be driving the 6 litre dodge pick up trucks, instead of BMW', Audi's etc? and gas (petrol) at 1/3 of our current price.

Back to the tyres, if they are getting that rare..... Wheel locking nuts may be a good item to buy, even on steel wheels.
Also people will run them down to the limit 1.6mm or even lower. :doh

theres been a shortage of earthmover tyres for at least the last five years when i worked for Cemex last year(until they made me redundant:sly0 we have had machines sat on the docks waiting to be delivered to us sat on wooden wheels? Michelin was saying that with all the construction going on in china and india all the earthmover tyres were going there.

Well there is definitely a rubber / tyre shortage as i went to the tractor plant today & they have over a 1000 tractors in storage with no tyres

It's global apparently & the tyre shortage is here to stay for the foreseeable future

The cheaper tyres & not so common makes are up in sales but they won't last for ever

I reckon "Re-Tread's" that are only made for trucks will soon be made for cars :nenau

You're a bit slow there mate, and i don't wninge i just try to challenge racsim where i see it, it's good practice, and try not to be bigotted and prejudiced with nothing more than a meagre bit of hearsay or tabliod rumour to go on. I am on the whole an easy going person, i try to get along with everyone, even stupid people, not that i'm suggesting there are any one here.:augie
