tin worm strikes again:(
had to fit new discs and pads for mot so thought i would give my t2 a coat of underseal while i was poking about underneath.
all seemed fine until i started wire brushing the inner sill to find bits of it missing.the worst part is the front section just behind the plastic arch cover.
had to make 2 new peices for each side and weld them on.
it looks like dirt and mud have got behind the cover and held moisture and rotted away the front section.
all sorted now but one to look out for in future.

This is quite common in a lot of vehicle as the grit and mud get jammed up behind the mud flaps and behind the door hinges meet the fender.

What can help is to open your door when washing the car and squirt the water hose between the door and the fender to wash out the rubbish.

could idea to keep thrat pocket clear as can lead to flooding of foot wells when water cant
escape and if has downpour comes sideways into car instead.

my corrosion appears to be in rear floor near 2nd row anchorages and also in brackets that
support bumper in front of front wheels....fancy some welding Elty?

sounds like you have got the same problem with the floor as i had with my old one.
where the rubber feet of the second row seat sits there where big rust holes.
this one is solid everywhere else just the two bits i mentioned.some rust bubbles on sills but i gave them a good poke with a chisel and they are solid.gonna grind the rust out and hammerite them on saturday(weather permitting)
