Well a cheap alternative that works well is the bottom of the plastic cages they transport chickens in, I kid you not...

They work great and when you cut the cage floor down to about 14 inches wide, you wouldnt know the difference between them and the ones you buy..

Had 4 for years and they work a treat, been stuck in mud, sand and snow and theyve done the business everytime.

Good cheap alternative to spending a oner :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

oh and theryre yellow in colour so look the dogs dangles and easy to see in the dark.

Go try them you wont be dissapointed

Yellow pages mate, look for your biggest poultry farm in your district and youll hit gold Im sure, Got mine whilst doing a agency job for a local haulier who had the contract to supply transport for chickens to one of the biggest abbatoirs in the country, so whilst unloading I "gained a few cages" and dropped them off at home on the return run, simples.....
