Roof Tent on a terrano

Has anyone ever fitted a roof tent to a terrano? Im looking at them for my SWB Van, anyone any experience?

I wouldn't mind one for my SWB Van as well if you find one but as pointed out by Rick recently the Thule Nissan ones are only rated at 55kg per bar so be careful

Yeah, but it was also pointed out that this is a moving max weight and not a reference to the overall weight that the roof bars can take. It's only a problem when you're going round corners or braking.
What you want is one of these.

The amount of times I've seen that album of pictures is unreal, I was that impressed by the work gone into it I was worried that the album would disapear one day so I've downloaded all the useful pictures to my laptop :thumbs

That album Banshee is pretty good. Ive been camping with the van before, and was able to sleep inb the back, only problem was the rear door wont open from the inside!!

Typical isn't it, the earlier Terrano's have a handle on the inside of the tailgate:doh why did they do away with it. Often thought about seeing if it could be added when I had my 05 plate.

It can only be a rod that pulls on the lock, so why can't a bit of string be used?:nenau

I compared the interior panels and the handle shape, the tailgateglass and trim panels are different on the later model even though I believe the tailgate is the same.

Sorry for posting it again Banshee:lol but there are some great photo's on there covering lots of things shame they haven't added any more yet

As for the rear inner door handle I think it's doable but the catch on the later ones might have to be changed for an earlier on if the later doesn't have the bit for the rod to go onto:augie then the rod between the catch & inner handle would poss have to be mad up from a longer rod depending on where you fitted the inner handle but a outside door handle I think would work great

So i bought myself a second hand Autohome Overcamp, got it fitted to the van lastnight & set up, really pleased with it:





Just need to get that front wing repainted and it will look a bit better

I got it from Gumtree, the chap had bought it in 2013, drove around with it on the roof for 6 months, used it on his driveway for two nights with his kids, realized it wasn't practice for him and his boys so put in the garage for two years, then sold it to me for £600 :clap The RRP on the Tent is £1400, plus about £150 of accessories.

ive not slept in it yet, but from just lying in it, its far better than a tent.

I think one with a tent below it would be handy for changing, or sitting in tho.

Keep an eye on ebay tho, you can get them for as low as £400 if your willing to travel for them, as they will never be local to you!
