Should have added it to my last post as kinda linked - has anyone fitted a roof mounted flip down dvd player in their terrano?
Ive fitted them in cars with sun roofs as makes it easier to prise the lining away but my newer 4x4 has no sunroof so I imagine I would have to start at the back near the rear door or a side door and wire in from the ceiling light?

well roof flip down dvd is installed - the plate it attaches to lined up with the two screw holes that held the interior light in place luckily enough.

Two wires that are in place, one is a live the other is for the built in led lights in the unit to act like the original light when the door opens.

Put a ground wire into the roof panel and now got a nice 11.3" dvd player for the kids - mint!!!!!!!!!!!

get head rest ones

i fitted the head rest one in our car great bit of kit kids just put on a dvd head phones and silence all the way they can watch there own films or watch the same one, it also allows us to tune the radio in to it just incase we want to play it threw the car speakers

PICS!!! :clap

Ill take some tomorrow as Ill be fitting a new water pump and all new belts during the day. Then THursday having the rear windows tinted - very black n mean and new stainless surround rear wheel cover and chrome edging strips for the doors.
Ive made a blanking plate for the stereo just gotta figure out the best hazard switch to put in it yet then planning to cover in black vinyl .
Also got the switches and blue led mood lihjts to go in the footwells and under rear seats as well.
Lots n lots to do but should be worth it.

ive the two screen vertion, from argos, still not fitted into car as yet, had it about 8 years now, kids use around the house and also used alot when i had a caravan

Don't go too black on the tints or plod will pull you. They have a little gizmo that tells them how much light is getting through.

Its ok Im only doing the back five the drivers and front passenger Im leaving stock. It doesn't matter about the rear they can be as dark as you want no laws broken.

I had mine done earlier this year and that is exactly what I was told. :thumb2

You can have the rear ones completely blacked out if you want.

The front and front sides on most cars are slightly darker than clear as standard and any additional colour will bring them below legal levels. While the police may not notice a small additional reduction, any insurance claim will be completely rejected.

valid point, not worth buggering up your insurance. Some 4x4's have solid van sides so it cant be an issue with black glass plus it keeps it cooler for the rear passengers

Any windows behind the B post can be tinted as dark as you like you can even paint them if you wanted to as long as you have a door mirror on each door but infront of the door mirror ie the passenger & drivers windows have to be left as standard:thumbs My mate tints window etc for a living & won't touch front windows

Looks a nice neat job does that, well done.

Many thanks, my daughter loves it and its great how you load films onto a usb stick then watch them so should make our holiday to Freance this year more enjoyable for kids and hence parents lol.

How do you transfer films from dvd on to usb stick? Used some software in the past but it was never really very reliable or successful.

Ive only ever suffered travel sickness once and it was on a relatively short trip but I was a passenger and was reading the whole time and really felt ill. Font of all knowledge said it was the reading that did it. Might be worth keeping an eye on the youngsters in case they suffer similar whilst watching the screen.

I use DVD fab to rip discs to a basic avi files for watching on a player or of course you can just get them online but obviously just the legal way and not using any online download sites etc etc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap
