So I took spiderpigs advice and ground back the crappy bits and rewelded, joints look solid now, this has caused the side bar to warp inwards but only 5mm from straight and tbh u can't tell unless u really look for it ( if anything it's more areodynamic :p )

So the acid test is to jack the vehicle up...

It handled it NO PROBLEM :p

Fair bit of deflection tho and the outriggers bend the 7mm to touch the sill, but the slider bar and the outriggers all popped back out with no distortion. I'm very happy with this as its an extreme test, and again they only owe me £25

Some pics:

Full weight of vehicle on jack, did this slow moving axle stands up bit at a time in case they snapped/gave way lol at the deflection

Outriggers touching sill seam, full weight of vehicle :

After jacking showing return to normal, no lasting deflection:

7mm from slider to seam, no biggie

So these will do for a bit, I dare say they will last me a while. Obviously the ends will bend if they take the full weight of the vehicle but well see, cheap sill protection is what I set out to gain and I certainly got that :)

Painted them with red oxide that I had lying about will find some cheap black paint of some sort to slap on next

i know nuffin , but propping a truck up on bricks like that on top of jacks looks very dangerous to me

Indeed, had no wood, was shitting myself tbh as every time I cranked the jack Handel another bit of brick crumbled off :D

Was more worried about the nuts flying off the bolts tho and going thru the conservatory as the bolts are too short and the nuts are only on by about 2 threads :lol

I dunno about the talented bit mate, I just make it up as I go along :lol

looks a cracking job to me, although jacking is not as severe as landing on a rock, but cheep sill protector it is and a grand job, but I would get some longer bolts, Rick

Cheers rick, will go see my mate at the fastener place this week for some longer bolts.

Top coated a couple of times this morning, used a £4 tin of plastikote super Matt, applied outside but just brought in for some room temperature GOODNESS ;)
