Hi all, had clutch replaced and now have excessive road noise from under the gear lever. Any easy fix or is it likely some sound damping was left off? Think I recall someone with a similar issue but can't find the thread.

i think its very likely some soundproofing has been missed off

Probably. Seem to remember something about using some kind of mastic to deaden the noise. No point going back to the garage as I now have two dents in my sills and a piece of my exhaust gone walkabout, God knows what I'd be left with.

glad you raised this Liam as mine seems noiser since clutch done. gears seem
louder too.

would the insulation be on top of the box from the underside of the body or
can anything be done from inside car, anyone that has stripped a shell lately
recall, spud or rick?

There's no insulation under the truck and only inside under the carpet.
Can't think what could be left off that would make things louder?
Might be worth checking gear box mount I guess? :nenau

noise

I would look at gearbox mountings and its a long shot but is there a tear in the gearshift rubber gaitor is it in place fully ?
