rhs electric windows not working

started playing up over the last few months where only the rhs windows sometimes worked then sometimes nothing. lhs side no problems . now the rhs have completely stopped . just wondering if there is a relay some where or first point to start checking for fault . regards , dave

If you have recently adjusted the handbrake, you may have disturbed the wiring under the handbrake squab, so worth checking the switches here first anyhow.

thanks for reply , not had any recent handbrake adjustments , does the power to the door switches go from the center console or the door switches or the other way round . ie: slave switch and master switch. thanks , dave

power comes from the console switches, and they get dirt in them which causes bad connections, I found the only way was to take them apart clean and reassemble, bit fiddly but no great problem, but make a note of all the wire connections before you remove the wires, Rick

our nsr stopped last month or so ago was a broken clip which caused the wire to jam inside the pully wheel on the motor, take the door panel off and have a look easy fix new mechanisms on ebay, worth a try

drivers door has an extra relay unit that does the one touch bit, it has probably failed, I do not have a spare as used it on a mates car a while ago, Rick

behind the door card, to the right high up, the one I replaced was clicking with the up/down button but no window movement, tested the window motor with a spare battery positive one way round = up the other way = down, motor worked fine, changed the relay, perfect, Rick ps I think I still have the old one will try and find it and find out what has gone inside.

rhs not working

hey up, I had that on my r3m , drove me mad , as it worked when the car was stationary but not when in motion , any way I cleaned some earth contact points up , nothing then wilst instaliing a new radio I had to sort a new earth out and since then my window works fine ,

just checked . same as mine is doing , relay box clicking but no movement of window , but not sure if this also controls the rear window . bit odd as rear window now working fine . so will check the motor .then i guess will be asking about for a relay box . thanks , dave
