i'd go for a front fog style or flood light, switchable but using existing reverse circuit
as master in same sense as having extra driving lights on main beam with own isolator.

on a mk2 t2 onwards could mount on step bumper out of way. perhaps have a tell tale
switch too make sure know when extra is going to on, though glance in mirrors will tell
too... isnt the standard reverse crap sure sometimes can see more using brake lights.

oh and why did nissan only give us one when many of their road cars, almera etc has 2.

You could put a LHD rear lower light cluster in and put a separate fog light in the bumper.:thumbs

indeed that was a planned project on my first t2, got a pair of clusters with white lens and
was going to do fog as slim, rear window led type then flogged it for the troll. which needed
same sort of treatment too....

Quick thought, it might just be worth checking the existing lens is clean inside and the bulb is not blackened. It does not take much to greatly reduce the light output of the reversing light. On my 05 model the reversing light works fine.

I think the lights are the same way round on both drive sides I.e. the reverse light is always on the lhs

When I changed my T2 to comply with Spanish MOT laws, I had to replace both rear lights, the foglight has to be nearest the centre white line in the road.
