reverse light sensor terrano 2

anyone had to replace this sensor, i tried all usual things wires earths etc but it seems the sensor is at fault, I know its a really stupid q but if i remove the sensor from the box underneath will the oil pour out, just never done this before, anyone know of a stockist apart from nissan :nenau

It seems high enough up the box not to leak but I've not done the job to know
Plenty up the scrap yard to try it out
