Hi All

My aerial on the T2 has disintegrated - kept together and leak free with PVC tape:nenau.

Would this aerial http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CELSUS-PRIMERA-TERRANO-AMPLIFIED-ROOF-AERIAL-AN8050_W0QQitemZ200314532478QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2ea3ad327e&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A2109%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 be a direct replacement for a genuine nissan one or do i need an adapter of sorts to fit it??

a vauxhall aerial has exactly the same thread if you can find one Zip.

Thanks for the reply. I am looking for the complete unit base and aerial since the original is letting in water. Would the Vauxhall one be a direct replacement - just disconnect the wires/coax and replace???

oh i see, thought you just needed to swap the twig itself....depends on the size of the hole in the roof really...you'd need to remove the existing one to check that....and if its in bits, well a bit of silicone would do the job wouldn't it?

I've got my head lining out at the mo and seem to remember it being quite a big nut! About 17mm. It has a short cable 100mm then a connector.I cant remember if it's amplified or not though. I'll have a spy tomorrow for you.

Thanks Mate:thumbs. The aerial is amplified - the nissan dealer told me. However he quoted £142 for the aerial unit:eek: so i told him NO thanks.

Hi, thats the one I fitted a couple of months ago, I did a post about how to pull down the head lining and fitting. Only prob the wiring fittings are different on the T2 so you may have to adapt the ends....works well but is slightly longer than original so watch out in car parks... regards bri

Well the nasty job is done. I have fitted the aerial and as stated above it requires some soldering to change the sockets for the aerial leads.

Now reception is brill!! I am thinking of changin the mast now for a silver one - just for a bit of bling.

Thanks all for the advice.

Don't do that, there is a wire that runs inside the mast, break it and your back to squire one..:doh

Found this out too late! Bought a silver mast today from Halfords and when fitted it could barely pick up the strongest radio signals. So i had to take it back and refit the original. Ah well it was worth a try!!
