easy ish.
ok, jack the car up starter motor side, remove the wheel, remove the liner and BAM, there it is.
so, you now have access to the two bolts holding the starter in, and the connections. Disconnect battery of course, and unplug the connectors.
undo both bolts and remove, starter is now free. You have two options. remove through wheel arch (you may have brake lines in the way, but you can unclip them to give a bit of movement) or you can pull it out through the top. Both are awkward. If you twist and turn, you can easily pull it out through the top with a little help from a friend who should help hold it through the wheel arch as you maneouvre it. Thats how i did it.
it IS a bit of a bitch if you dont remove anything else like I didnt, but perfectly do able. The reverse is so much easier however.
