The time has come to overhaul 97 terrano2 this week, there is still snow on the drive but it needs to be done, started by removing old front wings which i renovated 3 yrs ago photos in my profile thingy,i bought the new to me wings about Sept last year from Somerset for £40 each, one was nearly new a bargain me thinks, after removing 3 engine compartment bolts and 2 from near the door hinges and 2 from the front bumper area and 2 from the sill area and removing the plastic shroud which prevent crap from going up into the inner wing area and the plastic outer trim i finally got the wing off,all the bolts and screws came away without breaking as i spray everywhere with waste oil every year, before fitting new wings i removed w/screen washer reservoir and wire brushed inner wing etc and then painted smooth black hammerite paint before fitting new wing, everything went back ok, left out bolt that attaches front of wing cos it was impossible to replace without taking bumper off (if anyone knows different, let me know)cleaned around discs and pads and applied coppergrease on sliders and brake pad contact areas, will now move on to poly bushes for anti roll bar, will update as i progress, i will fit fuel heater in engine bay as i run this one on veg oil and have done for as least 5yrs.

think it would be worth investing in waxoil as old engine oil will not last long, Rick

folow on

Hi all, Maybe Solarman, but it's getting rid of my waste engine oil, front wings fitted sourced from cncfabs, cleaned and painted under inner wings etc, replaced plastic trim and all was well until i realised that i forgot to connect repeater flasher,"plonker",replaced arb bushes and droplink bushes with "Milner" polybushes, replaced spotlamps after smashing into snowdrift and i've fitted 12v diesel heater, whilst cranking engine to get fuel into filter starter packed up, so fitted new starter a bargain at £60,a guy had ordered wrong one.drivers door mirror ordered from cncfabs, should be here soon, original mirror cowl was knocked off by a moron in a sandy coloured Camel logo disco whilst i was stationary the pratt never slowed down thought he was on the Paris-Dakar, will carry 4lb lump hammer with me,to remind him!moved backwards onto rear wheelarches and drum brakes which 16yr old and very little wear, scuffed the glaze and replaced drums, cleaned and painted under arch and beneath plastic trim then primed and painted with hammerite then move onto rear door and door seal.
