Now I would have said the Pollen filter was harder to replace than the air filter, so you are making great progress.... Just wait till you do an oil filter change... that's when the fun really starts..:lol

Actually I thought replacing the pollen filter was easier than this engine air filter as the air filter was in a tight place and I had to watch out other ducts - whereas it's a just disassembling parts for the pollen filter to be replaced.

Not sure about changing the oil filter...as my car is in a shared parking and it's always hard to do things. Wish I had my own garage! So might ask the garage to do the job;)

As a tip the engines run quieter on Mineral Oil rather than Synthetic or Semi Synthetic. The other oils do the job but for some reason Mineral is better for them.

Could you have a quiet word with your neighbor that shares the parking and just say you have some work to do for a couple of hours or so.

Jim, is mineral oil something like this?

Oil filter change would come after reverse camera as well as sound deadening on the doors ;)

Basically yeah, just need to confirm the spec of the oil on here as I can't quite remember (i have to look it up every time).

Changed pollen filter about 18 months ago.....yuck, fiddly but 'doable', fitted a K&N air filter this spring, LSD oil at same time as pollen filter.......haven’t worked up the courage for an oil change myself yet, but garage did it last year......:nenau

Not changing the pollen filter causes a restriction in the air flow which causes the heater resistor pack to get hotter due to the excess drag on the motor pulling more current due to restriction thus more load - this is compounded by less air flow over the resistor pack and so not sufficiently cooling it. I used to wonder why these resistor packs would go open circuit so often ....... I'm pretty sure this is the reason.

Understandable really, when I looked at the state of the one I took out.....disgusting, so that would definitely put strain on any motor/circuit trying to pull air through that midden.....:nenau
