Hi guys,

I have used the search function on this one, but could only find some threads back in 2011.......

I will have to replace my passenger side CV joint/gaiter around November (for UK MOT), when I come back to UK.....my question is ......where is the best buy.......Milners gets mixed reviews on here.....is there an alternative....?

Should I also replace both at the same time...?

Banshee has been using a supplier near him lately......:nenau

Thanks in advance for any input......:bow

Is it the joints or just the boots that are split?

I just paid £12 for two boot kits. If it need joints I'd be tempted to get second hand drive shafts

Also expect top ball joint bolts to shear as well so factor those into costs too.

Very easy to do, but as said order top and bottom ball joints at the same time.

I've used Milners cv boots, nothing wrong with them after 1y of usage.

Easiest way to get at them is to take the drive shafts out, if you check my past posts there is an update from Rick (I think) on how to do that.

Okay,

Thanks guys, I will check back Prelaar, and print off any info.

I need CV joint as well as boot, Milners are approx £45.00+/- complete, but you are suggesting that I replace the shaft as well (as the top and bottom ball joints) with a 2nd hand shaft (half shaft ?), presumably Rick may have one......but it is a 3.0 ltr, not 2.7 ltr......is there a difference on the axles...?

No idea if the full drive shafts are different for the two engine sizes.

Only reason I suggested that I would be tempted is that a complete shaft is less faffing around.

Shafts are the same, yes I have, no need to try and remove the top ball joint 4 bolts, just undo the ball taper nut (unless joint is worn), but if Milners are doing a joint for £45 including new boot I would sooner go for that as opposed to a used one with old boot, Rick
