my alarm is falty and i would like to remove it but i dont know were to start. i toyed with the idea of just removing the siren but the lights will keep on flashing and im sure it wouldnt be long until i got pulled over.
i dont know were to start but want it removing as it will need a new battery eventualy and i would also like to disconect it when doing the welding even though it seems its not a must..

anybody know how?

thanks in advance larson

Hi larson i removed mine White Pearl.
it was a 2 button fob type locked doors and set alarm.
if you look behind the fuse bank to the right of steering wheel if its an after market type the main ignition wires will be cut and the alarm spliced to the wire ends.
alarm itself on mine was in passenger footwell up near heater.
there were motion cencers and curt-icy light connections.
all i did was remove the alarm wires and connect the ignition wires back together again .some wires were a bit short so spliced extra pieces in before soldering .
good tape up and all worked ok.
good idea to disconnect battery while doing the above work once you have identified connections .
MAKE A DIAGRAM OF WHAT GOES WHERE BEFORE TAKING ANY THING OUT.:thumb2
CENTRAL LOCKING STILL WORKED.

if it is the NATS 1 system then the ecu will receive a coded signal from the NATS unit, if you do not disable the nats then you probably will not be able to start the car, somewhere I have the wiring links for disabling nats 1, but first you have to find it, I have no idea where it is on my T2, only ever done them on Primeras but the system I think is the same, Rick

thanks for the offer of help but i dont think i need to remove it.. i parked the car up as the brakes had gone and the brake fluid container in drivers door pocked forced the switch forward for the electric seat and it was left jammed for 3 days, when i went to start the bus up there wasnt even enog power to light the flashing led fo the alarm..
charged it up without removing it and the car cracked up wih no hastle from nats....

im now having ALL my brake pipes replaced...
