I've been offered a Bosch IP from a 98 Terrano for £20 if I remove it myself but the car is a scrapper and I have to work on it from the floor and I can damage anything I need to in order to get it off, it's being crushed the day after I do it

How easy a job is it and what tools needed? Reason I ask is I'm away from home but on the way home tomorrow I will be passing it however only have an basic toolkit with me :doh

I'm sure someone has an idea with all the action in the IP threads at the moment :thumb2

Basic tools is all you need bud but they're awkward to get to if standard truck but worth it for £20 as sell easily for£100

I was lucky with the gear on spare engine gental tap and it came off simples but guess they can be agro

From memory just three legged in but I had feeling there was a couple of threaded holes in it so you could put a couple of longish bolt through and wind it off but could be wrong on that

yes there are threaded holes in the gear but DO NOT just wind in bolt that push against the ali housing, if the gear is tight on the taper shaft it could ruin the pump, you need a metal plate with corresponding holes, the plate rests on the loosened nut (to protect the threads) wind in the bolts to draw the pulley to the plate, plate needs to be prob 12mm thick, if motor is scrap then you can steal bolts from engine, Rick

Thanks for all your replies guys :thumb2

Due to time constraints today and a lack of knowledge, I'm going to go there not expecting top be able to remove it but if I can, bonus :thumb2

The lad who owns the car says he has a pretty extensive toolkit anyway, he may have what I need :bow
