Help.remote central locking on the blink, been working fine, then started to be a bit of a git to unlock, battery ok,showing 2.89 volts on test.
spare key buggered about two year ago ,so been using other one, virtually brand new,ie buttons ok etc.Where is the receiver on the car? Its a 2000 t2.
Can still lock/ unlock it but alarm goes off until key in ignition and turned on .grrr

You may find that battery voltage is to low as it will drop further under load, Generally all remotes of this type prefer 3v plus. A good battery will sit at around 3.2v. A duff battery not under load will display a phantom reading, a good rule of thumb is a lost of 10% unloaded... bin it!
Hope this helps

Yes change the battery it is gone, also if you have the disable switch like the earlier one have press this for a few seconds before shutting the door and locking, this should stop the alarm when unlocking, Rick

new battery(duracell) today and still the same. any idea where the control unit/ receiver/alarm is for the remote?i think thats where my problem lies, however the missus has a tendancy to throw the keys onto worktops and the like , so maybe a second hand remote of ebay and reprogram it might be the answer. thoughts please gents... thanks

we just broke a MK 1 T2 and although I know what to look for could not find the NATS unit, it could be that Swifty or his mate removed it and chucked it in the big box of bits without me knowing, but I doubt it so I am now left wondering if it is part of the ECU, that was behind the heater controls, Rick

there is a ecu type unit in the front passenger floor well, directly below the glove box, behind carpet ,could this be it?

if it is it will have a radio frequency written on it like 125 KHz and should say cont unit immobiliser, Rick

I'll have to check my handbook when I get home but I thought that button just disables the interior motion sensor.

I am not quite clear on this one, we only have one blip for the MK2 and when I used my chiped key (the guvner would not let me have her blip) every time I locked the car and unlocked it with the key, the alarm would go off, but one day I left the dogs in the motor and pressed the disable button for a few seconds, I think the red light flashed at a different rate, then locked the door as usual with the key, since then the alarm does not sound any more when I use "her" car, Rick
