Does anyone still say: "Do what you want, it's a free country" I can't remember when I last used that phrase.

When the ex head of MI5, Dame Stella Rimington, warns we are turning our country into a Police State, shouldn't we start to worry?

yeah I skimmed thro' the newspaper report ..... I thought 'oh good' ..... seems the labour bloke threw his rattle out of the pram and stormed out of the hall .....

Alot of people that I know are working to get to a point where they can leave this "green and pleasant land " for good. It's true what they say, "last one to leave the country please turn the light off !"

Lee.

Oh how things have changed, Rick

BNP read the subtext a UK version of the National Socialist German Workers' Party

Politics is always a controversial matter, if the BNP ever became a majority government in the UK be careful what you ask for - have you ever read their long term goals ?

If it happened whilst I was alive I would have my British Citizenship revoked, be deported to the country of my birth having lived in the UK since I was 5 years of age. The BNP is a nationalist racist party trying to get its foot in the door, surely Tezzer you can see through their propaganda ?

No offence but we need to learn the lessons of history not repeat the same mistakes.

I voted Brexit, at the moment we have no electable party that want to leave the EU. This is leaving a vacuum in British Politics as democracy seems to be being ignored for vested interests who want to ignore the vote and remain.

If to vote BNP is a protest vote that's fine but.............................

Rick and Macbethial, you guys do realise that this post was originally from 2009 :lol

Absolutely, just wanted to do the comparison ten years down the line, Rick

We need a reborn UKIP to fill the political vacuum.

No TBH Rick I did not spot that the start of this post was 2009, that said the acceptable face of putting Britain first - UKIP has effectively finished as a party when the leave vote was won.

If we do not get on with leaving the EU I think there is a real danger of something akin to the French Yellow Vest bunch causing real trouble in the UK.

A good friend of mine who is a retired fire fighter would vote BNP if we had a local candidate, he is a scouser who moved to Derby. We had quite a few frank exchanges of opinion when we used to work together.

I wonder how he would feel if he were forced to move back to Liverpool. I see that he accepts that there should be no cross border movement, the same argument applies to cross county movement too. He may well have taken a job from someone in Derby who was equally qualified, etc, etc. Freedom of movement is such a wonderful thing and should not be quashed.
What are we going to do with all the British immigrants, who live in Spain (for example), when they are repatriated?
The answers are yes to both, I am very much pro Europe and anti racism.
