Anybody help with this, after car has sat for a while but is still warm when I go out in it again
the automatic gearbox sometimes is reluctant to change gear but does so after a minute or two. The car is a Nissan Mistral/Terrano 2.7 TD 1994 import with 45000 miles on the clock serviced every 6000 miles

Thanks in advance.

Hi McNicoll

I have a 1996 2.7td Mistral

To me it feels reluctant to change gear. I come off the gas and it changes
ok. foot kept on the gas it will redline all the way.
The gearing until top gear feels very long and low.

The garage that i use assures me its ok.

ps have you had a squeek/ squeel from the front?

if so what was it

Regards paulp

squeek

thanks for the suggestion

i will remove the belts one at a time the weekend and drive it to see what the score is.

(being careful as i believe the alternator creates the vacuum for the servo?)

please correct if wrong or other things to watch for (other than no power steering)

I also marked the bottom crank pulley so that i could see if the cush drive rubbers have perished. - busy weekend

check your kick down cable adjustment, could be to tight.:thumbs

My old auto was often reluctant to change into top until it had done a few miles - I usually sorted it by flooring it then backing off at which point it changed up OK. :)
