Can u tell me how much in total it cost including delivery and did u have to return your old gearbox

I had my replacement gearbox from him, It is noisier than the old one, I get a ringing noise in 5th and a rattle / ringing in 2nd at low revs. ( pulling away )

My old gearbox was getting noisier in neutral over time and thought to replace the box before it made the decision for me and it was still opperational.

I have contacted David Beumont with my concerns, I spoke to him and he reassures me they are noisy boxes anyway and if a problem develops he will replace it - there is the issue who will fund refitting.

When the gearbox was unpacked by the garage, they discovered damage where it mates to the transfer box, the garage told me it looks like someone in the past had used levers and scored the face. The garage cleaned them up and fitted the gearbox - no problems at all.

The garage stated on my bill what they had to do so I felt I had to report to David Beumont as in the event of any failure, I did not get accused of the damage.

I recieved an email from someone who works there " Nick" who sent me a rather nasty email telling me that I shouldn't have signed for the unit and that there was no longer any guarantee with the unit as it now had the potential to leak oil and ruin the gear set.

I emailed him back basically telling him this was not on - I signed for delivery, the driver is hardly going to hang around while you unpack and inspect every inch of a gearbox for any possible damage casued by careless mechanics in a past life!!

Make up your own mind - my gearbox is still O.K , my old one had done 82,000 but I recon this one is off a much high miler.:(

It cost £500 + £35 delivery + Vodka and tonic 20%

They want your old one in part EX

Mines got the rattle on Tickover that is rather loud :p it's still smooth as hell tho, no crunches or baulking, and at 140k I cannae fault it, plenty of life in the old girl yet methinks
