Hi all,

Looking for recommendations for a decent trolley jack for my 2.7TDi, the jack i have at the moment wont lift the truck up high enough to even replace the tyres!!

Or if someone has one going spare and is willing to post it to the dark side of the moon (North east Scotland).................:augie (obviously for a wee contribution to their beer/project/garage fund)

Cheers Fez,

Just plugged in my postcode and...........doesn't post to Scottish Highlands.

Thanks for the tip though, I'll keep my eye out for something along that sort of line.:thumb2

ah right, sorry didn't spot that! Extra £18 ish for me then!

i have had a seally like that since 79 and apart from oil top up still working well.i paid about 50 all them years ago for my workshop use.

An old Bradbury for me Circa 1968/70 when new.

I bought a second hand Bradbury in 1980 had the seals replaced about 20 years ago and it's still working OK though I suspect it might be creeping slightly. I always use axle stands for safety - mine are commercial grade ones bought in the early 1980's and still as good as new as they have become sprayed with Waxoyl over the years!

A couple of years back CostCo did some Alloy Jacks for around £80 so I bought one so I could do front to back wheel changes a bit quicker. The Bradbury is just so heavy I only use the Alloy one if I need one with me when I go out.

Where can I get a bottle jack at a reasonable price! I had a similar problem changing a flat tyre in work! I had to get a block of wood because the bottle jack I have would not jack the truck high enough. Surely you can't be expected to carry a trolley jack in the boot at all times?

I managed to find a 5 Ton one that has a good lift height & still fits in the cubby hole in the back of the mav, only £22 cheap n nasty but works well.

my one not available now but check what max lift height is before buying.

Happy shopping.

I've got a 12 ton bottle jack from Machine Mart which lives in the Trol's boot. Plenty height, even for a lifted truck on larger than standard tyres, and the jacks well enough rated to use on the tractors etc :thumb2

How much was that? And to what weight! I line in France so will need to check online
