Does anyones rear wiper actually wipe the rear window?

Mine on the 05 plate wipes a small amount at the os edge of its stroke. The arm doesnt seem to have much pressure on the glass.

The 96 plate rear wiper is mounted in a different place and does wipe most of its stroke just misses a little at the top.

Yours must be bent, try adjusting the arm gently, mine works as should :thumb2

1997 swb here, wipes fine. Only problem is the mud on the inside, caused by the dogs shaking themselves...

I had that problem with my 2001 truck, just tweaked the arm a little. No problem with the 2000 truck.

Mines not great either going to bend the arm a bit to see if it helps any:augie

Mine works (Patrol) but what small amount it clears is not worth the hassle, also have to be careful as it get stuck behind the spare.

Kind regards

Russell.

Russell, are you running wider tyres then? (Never had mine get stuck)

Mine works two although it's not a massive amount as it's only on the large barn door (better than nothing though). I have noticed it misses a wee bit on the outer tip on the upstroke but then catches it again coming back down

check to see if it pivots freely, may need some lube, rear ones dont get used so much and can seize up

My rear wiper gets the bottom two thirds but the top seems to be neglected. I shall have a look and see if it needs some persuasion:eek:

QUOTE]

I have 285/75/16 tyres and had to fit 12mm spacers behind the spare to (only just) clear the wiper. :thumbs
The rear wiper on the 'trol is not much use as the only bit it clears is usually obscured by the 2 dogs in the cage in the boot. :doh Fortunately the large wing mirrors allow a good rear view.

Stansdared wheel size 265/70/16 on a patrol steel wheel but if you remove spare the wiper drops down to parallel with bottom of glass and if you do not lift wiper up when replacing spare it gets jammed, as you can see it sits on the tyre suspect the wheel may have been pushed in to the door as I have knocked into trees etc whilst reversing.

Kind regards

Russell.

Well after the car passed it's MOT thought I'd give it a go putting a slight ben on the wiper arm. Has not worked, still only clears a very small section. Checked the pressure from the spring and have tomsay mine feels a little weaker than Clivvys and ThomasTheTerrano. I've lubed the joint but hasn't made any difference. Surely when they were new they would of wiped most of the sweep so what's gone wrong.

...so what's gone wrong.

Check that the arm is parallel to the screen, over time the arm gets a twist, and for the same reason the front wipers can squeel.
So mole grips to twist it back.

My last T2 slowly got worse over time & this one is starting to but it could be a new wiper blade is needed:augie Try what Rustic has mentioned as it'll cost nothing:thumb2

The wiper itself works reasonably well, however the rear washer jet fails to fire. It makes the noises, but no juice. I haven't had a dry to to see if fluid drips from anywhere.

Does anyone know which route the hose runs on a 2000 LWB T2?

My Headlamp washers did not work and the bottom had fallen off the pump, still made a noise but no water.

Kind regards

Russell.

if its the same as mine, first place to check is the rubber connector between the door & body
