I have been looking at second hand T2's on Ebay, Gumtree, Autotrader etc, and something I have noticed, is in a lot of the pictures, the rear wiper is running vertically up the passenger side of the rear window, rather than parked horizontally across the bottom drivers side of the window as it is on my T2.

Is this something that got changed at some point, and some "Park" there, or am I just looking at loads where the wiper is not working properly?

Changed on late square headlight models due to new tailgate has on space for wiper to park

Cheers, I kept dismissing them, working on the principle that if they had not declared the broken rear wiper, what else had they "Forgotten" to mention.. :doh

When Nissan changed the style of the rear door in 200-2001 they also changed the wiper motor. I think the later motors should work on yours put as you've noticed the park position is different but you also don't get as much sweep across the back screen:(

Cheers, I do not need to change mine, and I prefer it laying neatly across the door, my OCD can cope with that....:doh

We are looking for a short wheelbase diesel T2, that is around the same age as mine, (1999), as we know that is the best age to go for, that has the bits we want. Just been keeping an eye on the usual places, but could not understand why so many had what looked like a broken rear wiper. Somehow, I have never noticed as CNCFABS pointed out, the different back doors, and that some actually have the wiper sticking up before, and sods law, we are looking right on the change over...

Still the good news is, that makes another thing I can look at, to help me work out if it is the right one now.:clap

My 1999 SWB had a drop down on the bottom of the back door like yours will & the wiper sits nicely there out of your view on like the later ones & it still bug me now after 10 moths lol
you'll see the difference in the back doors between yours & my 05 model

Could be worse you could buy a car with left hand drive front wipers Can't remember which car it is think its Renault clio

I found out the hard way that the later model rear wheel carrier on the door doesn't extend as far out as the earlier ones so when I sourced a new one from James because mine had rot itself into a hole my BFGoodrich was about 2mm from touching the door and had trappped the wiper :doh
