hi mates!
when i bought my truck, the previous owner wasn't taking really care of it (and fortunately i spent really few money in that transaction), as i'm discovering day by day.

He was like "automatic lock doesn't work.. i don't know what happened" and also "rear windows don't move, i really don't know why"..

ok, the automatic lock has been a pain in the arse to figure out, but in the meantime i discovered what's wrong with rear windows..

he really doesn't know why they don't move... :doh

for sure something went wrong with the actuator and instead of solving the problem, he decided to completely lock the glass closed.
of course i'm going to investigate and i want my windows working.

is it possible to remove the motor and all the stuff leaving the screen in place?

i dont't have a box to work into, and it could be helpful to split the two parts.

Yes you can remove the window regulator and use a cut to size piece of wood to hold the glass in the closed position, but first unplug the two wire motor plug and apply 12v one way then the other if the motor works then you have a switch/wiring problem, a common fault is if the centre console has ever been moved the multi plugs can become separated/dislodged, good luck, Rick

yes, i'm supposing the same.. i hope it's just a matter of bad connections.

anyway, i saw in the left door the steel wire of the actuator cutting into the plastic clip at the end of the sleeve.
i don't know if i've been clear enough! :lol

Cowboys!!!! :doh

Got to love other peoples bodges hey :nenau

Let me know if you need spares, I'm pretty well stocked.

I had to search what's "bodges" meaning.. and that's the perfect description of this crap!

Thanks a lot, mate, i really appreciate! i hope i'll have time soon to figure out what's wrong

hi guys!
saturday I found a couple of hours to check the window actuators.
it's a big mess!

right side: both steel cables and joint are missing. I removed the slider and the motor from the door, leaving the glass on a piece of wood (screwed to the door) and i'm going to look for a repair kit or a used one.

left side: here's the big problem. the window bolts are stuck in the threaded bushing inside the orange plastic part glued to the glass. the bushing rotates with the screw inside the plastic and i can't separate them. one of the plastic parts has broken, and i'm afraid i can't find any spare. now everything is still mounted, but i'd need to replace some of the plastic clips of the actuator: i found some broken piece inside the door.

The plastic part can be separated from the glass, I should have a spare or 2, I should also have spare working complete regulators, but am not sure of the cost of shipping to you, Rick

Good work mate!!! Stick at it!!!

Rick should be able to sort you out with bits and if he can't I'm sure I'll be able to :thumb2

I really really appreciate!

it's not a problem for the actuators, i think i'm going to buy a couple of them, new or used.
i suppose the plastic parts are glued to the glass with the black silicon used for windscreen.
Maybe i could 3D print a couple of spares, using nuts instead of threaded insert..

anyway, if you really can find a couple of that plastic parts i'll be happy to receive it! in case let me know how much for the pieces and shipping to italy!

I can't find new complete regulators for a good price, so i'm going to buy a couple of THESE repair kits in order to overhaul mine.

I'll 3D print the glass supports, using a couple of bolts instead of bushings.

please, do you have any advice on how to remove the glass from the door? i can't figure it out from the manual! thx

news!

spares has eventually arrived, from turkey: a nice kit with all plastics and wires.

I've already done the rear right window, and i'll try the rear left as soon as i have a day free and without rain.

I need to replicate the plastic supports of the glass.. if any of you have some spares, by chance, could please take some dimension? i'd like to 3D print the components before dismantling everything.

TY!

Send a picture of what you need measurements of and if I've got the parts at home I'll get you some dimensions.

If I do have the parts, would it not be more money/time efficient to just send these over to you?

What's the cost of a jiffy bag to Italy these days? :nenau

you're definitely right.. the main reason is that i don't want to bother you!

i need them for the rear left door, but i guess they're the same for all glasses

I know the ones now!!!

I'll be honest, I thought last time I checked that they were bonded to the window bottoms with a resin type adhesive.

I'm not sure if they are a 1 time deal or whether they can be removed tactically and re-used.

If they can't I'll get some measurements
