Today I have been mainly making the mock up for my new rear winch bumper project :D
First bit set onto chassis ends.

Next to put some uprights to get close to the body again following the 2" lift.

Then a bit of fiddling round with angles to match my front bumper and meet the wheel arches.

Winch fairlead to fit next.
The existing plastic arches are coming off soon for some bigger ones
Fabrication now underway :thumb2

Where is the winch going?

Looks good, Where are you getting it made?

Winch is going inside the back on a dirty great metal chassis so it can be de-mounted for work. It's going in the middle so I can also take the cable out the roof "Challenge Style" :naughty
Local fabricating place initially ut may end up back with handy Andy :sly

You certainly know how to make it fit:lol:lol:lol.
Should look great when done.

still dont understand where the winch is going. Confused.

When its got some top coat and varnish it'l look ok , lol

Sadoline is better, mahogany or teak might look better, satin, matt or gloss though....?

Will it pass the MOT if it has woodworm, or veneer delamination. :nenau

Actually it's a great idea to make it out of ply, it looks great, but since the steel will be thinner, allow for this when making the fixing brackets that mount on the inside. :doh
I know you would have thought about this....

When I saw the picture of your rear end yesterday, I thought you had better cover it up...... all your bits were exposed :augie:augie

:lol:lol:lol

Does your rear door open fully, check the nearside for clearance.

Chassis not cut and tow bar points still there. I only fit my tow bar now when I need to tow something ;) Keeps it out the ground :D
And yes the door opens perfectly :thumbs

Great, of course, yours is the SWB, regarding the chassis, mine is longer than yours then.

It looks really good so far.

So where does your high lift jack connect to then?

.

Anywhere underneath the bumper, it's being made in 6mm.It will have slots in too. The front has slots in it for the hilift. We're going to make rock sliders soon instead of sills, and they'll have slots in too:thumb2

Local fabricator I hope :thumb2 I f I get any nonesense then I'll have to hassle Andy

Have you thought about getting them galvanised, this will affect the design slightly, as you have to ensure there are drain slots for the molten zinc.
