rear wheel bearings

hi
anyone know procedure to adjust rear wheel bearings on 94 maverick 2.7td?
passed MOT ok but had advisory on o/s/r wheel bearing.
any help or advice will be much appreciated

If you have play in the rear wheel bearings there is a strong possibility they will need replacing.

To check it is tight, involves removing the whole half shaft where you will find a nut that is locked by a locking washer with tabs bent over, this nut should be tightened to 245NM

Word to the wise...

I had a rear bearing break up on me - must have been faulty as the old cow had only done about 40k miles at the time - but it took out the halfshaft when it went and by the time I'd had the other side replaced as well (plus the halfshaft) I had a bill for several hundred squid.....so I wouldn't leave it too long....
