Hi - me again!!
Dont know if there is a cheap fix for this problem, but the rear washer water tube has perished in the rear door section, result is an attractive water feature in the boot when i try to clean the rear window!

Is it possible to graft on a piece of tubing, or am i resigned to the price of a replacement part??

As always, advice appreciated!

It should be easy enough to buyt some generic replacement pipe from a motor factors and some hose joiners so you can cut out just the bit thats accessible without having to remove all the pipe and replace. Few quid for the pipe 50p max for the joiners each. If you can get it silicon hose isn't much more and doesn't perish so you wont have to do it again in a few years assuming you keep the truck that long of course.

Cheers :)
Definately planning on keeping the truck - I LOVE IT!!

Hi quarryman  as HB said you should be able to pick up some replacement pipe without to much hassel  as for a joiner I have use a bit of copper brake pipe about 1&1/2- 2" long in the past & it has worked fine & lasted
Hope this may help

I had one go on a T2 and i just took the fuse out the rear wash wipe and that did the same trick no more leaks and no work or exspense invloved, but im just a lazy git

I had a lovely water feature on the inside at the back recently....when I stripped it down I found that the tube was okay and the non return valve near to the end of the tube had come adrift, when I checked the valve it was apparent that, it had come adrift due to it being blocked and the pressure had forced it from the tube.
I cleaned it in hot water, replaced it and hey presto...washers.

Oh and it was fairly simple to get the tube out.

Model shops especially ones that sell model aircraft do a small silicon tube for fuel line . would be ideal for the washer tube, also petshops that sell tropical fish have a flixible tube for use as an airline , they also do connectors and T,s

Most Halfrauds sell the neccessary, get yourself down to Edge Lane or Speke retail park. They even do the little joints that you'll need.

so ANOTHER trip to the halfrauds and I have it sorted. A £9.99 pack of joiners that doesnt include the right one (botched it fine with elbow pieces though) and a piece of washer tube from my box of bits and we are working!

My only concern is that the grommets i used arent a really tight fit and may let some water in the hole (although how much is going to get in exactly??

Might need to amend my botch when i A) have time (its been a hell of a week for impromptu fixes) and B) WHEN THERE IS ENOUGH LIGHT AND I DONT HAVE TO DO IT ALL WITH A HEAD TORCH!!!!!!!!

Rant over....

Pet shops have the joiners and not only that they have the one way valve which is really cheap.
The valve is used on the air line from the pump to the air stone in the tank.
I replaced my washer valve with one of these about 3 years ago and still going
