Pull the prop, remove the seal, press in a new one refit the prop, about 30 mins work, if you do not want any down time the get the seal from Nissan, if you can spread it over a day or so, remove seal get numbers and order, Rick
no special tools needed, drill a small hole in the old seal and drive in a wood screw then pull it out, new seal just needs a bit of tube of same diameter to drive it in, Rick

You can pull the prop and possibly read the numbers on the seal, then go to a bearing supplier and order one, if no numbers or you do not want to remove the shaft, go to you Nissan guy and give him the info he asks for, Rick
hi all had a garage look at my diff but the unit was rust just couple off tiny hole is there some thing that mite seal them after a good rub down talking £700 new diff
sounds like you have the earlier stronger diff, if so and it is just an oil leak then clean it up and use some epoxy putty, or welding could be an option but it will need to be oil free for a weld to succeed, Rick
I used liquid metal on my rear diff to plug a pin hole. The hole was on top though. It worked long enough to find and replace the rear axle.
I got a complete rear axle and a matching front diff for about £175
