This may of been asked before but has anyone any idea if the rear seats out of a lwb will fit into a swb?

ask makeitfit, think he was going down that road....
only problem i can see is INSURANCE wont like them

do you mean as in just putting the same amount of seats in but jst the ones from a LWB, or actualy adding extra seats to make it a 7 seater?

I don't know the answer, i'm just clarifying the question.:thumb2

adding or modifying the seats. you could end up needing certificates and paperwork to show the seats were installed by qualified possibly registered company.

sadly the days of just bolting some/ any old seats in your car /van are long gone .

you miight get lucky if your putting swb seats into a commercial t2 as its likely to have factory fitted mounts already. but i suspect you would still have to find the least anal insurer

when you say rear seats , do you mean the second row of seats , or the third row of seats that lwb models have ?:nenau

I'm after putting in a new(second hand) interior and was wondering if the second row out of lwb would be a straight bolt in.:nenau

no i dont think they will . the floor area is totally different as will the fixings be

i have fitted rear seats in my t2 commercial used ones from a maverick, i have a little experience of adding seats to vans and yes, insurers usualy want an "engineers report" which can be as simple as asking your local MOT station to check them and give their written opinion.

In my opinion, neither of the two back rows from a lwb will fit a swb, though the fronts (obviosly) will

I'd have to agree....the third row is held in place with a pair of floor mounted hinges that could be used, but the SWB probably lacks the captive nut mountings, but then the seat locks down into place via a thick metal half ring thing that sits in a special recess in the floor (in fact its a PITA when you want to load something with a flat bottom as it catches on the bloody thing) and again the SWB won't have that fixing or any easy way to mount one.

But the killer has to be legroom anyway....even in the LWB that third row is for circus midgets or those bloody annoying little things...what are they called? Oh yeah, children!:doh

In a SWB I don't think there would be anywhere to stick their feet LOL.

I thought he meant he wanted to fit the 3rd row of seats from a LWB into the back of a SWB "instead" of the usual back seats in a swb:augie I think:nenau
