Drum size

Hi Thermostat
I'm in the same boat, so to speak, i.e. looking for drums for my '96 T2. When I took mine off there were figures in the inside casting that said 255.5 mm (or something v similar) which I took to be the diameter of the drum. Check that out when you get yours off.
Regards CL

hi have 2 sets, one from a 99 tdi and 98tdi. if you give me the mesurements i can work out how much life is in them. you never no they may be fairly new.

Not sure why I didn't think f this before

Details form Nissan Workshop Manual

DRUM BRAKE
Unit: mm (in)
Lining wear limit Minimum thickness 1.52 (0.06)
Drum repair limit Maximum inner diameter 280.5 (11.04)
Out-of-roundness 0.05 (0.0020) or less

Also they look to be common across all models so not sure what the guy has listed thats smaller. Look HERE

Got up early this morning and i have one off yes 255.5mm max dia. (On the inner wall of the drum)
Mine seem to be damn close to this limit
Plus its not worth getting them machined as its my daily use vehicle.
the depth is 60mm

At least the wheel cyls are not leaking.

Checked one of the links that Zippy sent me and this seems to be the cheapest so i have ordered them

Hi Jimmy92

I'm still looking for a pair of drums and brake shoe assemblies for my '96 T2, if the ones you had on offer are still available? I'll need them shipped to WD31NH. If that's a can do, pse let me know and how much? If not - no probs.

Regards CL.

Not in France at the mo then?

Hi Lacroupade

Yeah - still in the land of cheese and wine but darling daughter is coming over (in her X Trail + trailer) with a bunch of stuff soon and I need a few bits from the 'old country'.

Now that the Pound / Euro exchange rate is so poor it's cheaper to buy many things, especially car parts, in the UK and them it shipped! For example cheapest Toyo 4X4 tires in France are at 98 Euros, in UK 56 Pounds!

Strewth!

Whats the price of unleaded doing at the moment? I'm hoping to take a blast down to the house in the Z4 while I still can (south of france in a convertible and all that!) - haven't been there in almost a year so god knows that the place will be like, overgrown and full of bloody wildlife again I suppose! I'd have popped in but going down solo and meeting wifey off the plane at Toulouse on her way back from Jordan.....better hope I don't need tyres!
