I've seen a video (not sure where or when) of replacing a windscreen. With the rubber seating surround, already in place in the window housing, the glass groove was lubricated with something slippery, maybe Vaseline, string was inserted in the groove, the replacement glass was held in place against the rubber bedding and the string pulled out, thereby pulling the rubber over the edge of the glass and securing it in place by the rubber extrusion. Fortunately I've never had to try it, hope it works for you! Bon courage!
