Hi all, the other day I found my front wheel in a nice big muddy hole, my par wheel was in the air, in 2wd the wheel that was in the air was just spinning!! This is the 1st time I have really tested the rear LSD, if I jack both the wheels off the ground and spin 1 they do both go the same way and with only 1 wheel off the ground spinning by hand, the spinning wheel does about 2-3 recent then tightens until I can't spin it anymore. I've got the right oil in it, is there anything inside that wears and is servicable?
Help appreciated so I can get it sorted in time for fun in the snow.
Many thanks Matt

not sure that I am reading your post correctly, if you jack up one rear wheel you should not be able to turn it unless you have a long bar on the wheel nuts, if you can turn it easily then I suspect the clutch plates have worn out, how many miles has it done and any idea how much off roading it has done, Rick

What exact oil do you have in the rear diff?

When was it last changed?

When you changed it what did the oil look like? colour, consistancy etc

If I jack up 1 wheel I can turn it a couple of revolutions then it locks up, if I remember rightly it was ls90 that I put in it, the oil that came out wasn't in too bad condition, don't know wether it was the right type though, I changed it around 5k ago, its done 210k, 1 previous owner who was a landscape gardener so wouldn't have thought its done much off road, I've only done abit, nothing extreme.
Thanks for the responses, Matt

I have had a few T2's down here and they are the same cannot turn one rear wheel if the other is on the ground so I suspect as I said earlier your clutch pack has worn out, do not know if they are replaceable but I suspect not, Rick
