rear diff locked

It doesn’t seem to hurt them, after all it’s a very short time they will be stopped. although I have come across a couple of testers that wont test them on a rolling road, preferring to do the test the old fashioned way on the road. If they are tested on the rolling road the other side to the one being tested will also show a resistance on the gauge due to what I put in my last post.
 
The diff is normal, I always tell the MOT test station it has an LSD.

Make sure you have the correct LSD oil in it, also it helps the diff if both rear tyres are the same type with the same tread depth and same pressure, so the diff isn't working overtime on long straight roads.

If ever you change the rear diff oil, it usually looks grey and thick as it is contaminated with friction material.

When the oil is old, the rear end tends to kick out especially on wet roundabouts. You need some slip after all.
