While poking around underneath today, found the OSR bump stop hanging off. Can anyone recommend a supplier ? It looks like a big rubber " 8 ".

I'm going to try to source a new pair. Thinking about our France trip, fully loaded, 3 nippers, 2 adults, bike rack, roof box, kitchen sink etc...

My last t2 they both fell off within 2weeks of each other never mentioned on mot.If you go for new expect £85 each and pain to fit as both bolts will shear off flush to chassis.

Thanks Dinky, nothing like some good news to start your day ! :lol Did you get yours done in the end then ?

Try the parts gateway for some you might get some nearly new ones, likeI did for £20:augie

You will probably find the bolts that hold them on are siezed sold:eek:

I snapped one of the bolts on mine when changing even after heating them with oxy/act:sly. I just welded it at the snapped bolt

:)

Well I tow caravan and two bikes on spare wheel all over europe, no stops and passes mot ok
If they are not there, they are not faulty! We are off to france for ten weeks, we may see you, sort of red with 4x4 sticker in rear window. Dover/dunkirk nofolkline.com

Got mine held in place by 2 cable ties on each bump stop:lol they were'nt completely off just partly but the ties have worked as they're still there:D

Hi Lee 3197

Had the same problem, tried to remove the old bump stop mounts but, as suggested before, I snapped the bolts. I simply bought cheap Disco 'look-alikes' from Milners and tack welded them in place of the (expensive) T2 replacements.

Regards CL

I glued mine back on with windscreen bonding silicon and there still solid 3 years later

You've just been lucky that the tester hasn't failed it as it is a MOT failure. I'm sure loads of stops are missing and they pass, but you never know:nenau

Another tip when you try to glue on rubber to metal. If you can get the bracket off without snapping the bolts:eek: Drill a hole through the braket and screw a 2 inch self tapper into the rubber to hold it while the glue sets:nenau

i didnt even know they had rear bump stops until id brought another terrano which had one fitted. mine had both fallen off, however my mates has still got his on.

you shouldnt fail your mot, as bri said, if there not there, there not faulty! mine didnt even have a anti roll bar on the front and it wasnt even picked up on the test, however the rear links were naffed and he did 'question' them.

Is that the official Ministry of Transport Position:nenau

Get stopped for a roadside check by them and you'll find out different:lol

Your MOT is only valid for the day the tester with no brains has done it:eek:, yes it lets you get your road tax.

:lol
