Just noticed on of my rear bumb stops is hanging off, the rubber is coming away from the metal. Tried Milner and they say it may be a main dealer part as they dont have one listed. Has aonyone got a set lying around or could point me in the direction of where to get a replacement? Just going to try Ford now....

Um... Ford seem to having trouble locating them too..

£78+Vat from Ford EACH!!:eek::eek:

Looks like I may be walking the 20 miles to work.... Can't afford that on my part time wages:(

same is happening to mine, I am not looking forward to when I have to replace them.

It might have already fell off.

I'll probably just secure them on with something else, Probably zip ties.

Was thinking of trying to restick it on and maybe put a small bolt and washer through it, not sure how that would be on the mot though.

apparently it doesn't effect the mot if they are missing

Lost ours years ago, not failed it's mot cos of them.

Similar thing on my R3mR I used Tiger Seal to re-bond the rubber to the metal plate and repair has lasted two years so far.

Its worth giving the metal plate a good wire brushing and when the job is done some silicone sealer round the edges to keep the water out. I used a fine rasp to clean the rubber surface prior to bonding.

Clean both surfaces, and bond back together. The above Tiger seal, or a resin. They were stuck that way first time round, they can stick like it again!

bump stop

what difference does it make not having them?

The bump stop is to give a rubber cushion when you bottom the suspension.
Without the bumps stop you risk a metal to metal contact and that could damage something never mind the noise and subsequent loss of handling !
