rear axle on my 2.7 2002 is leaking after i put new oil in. looks like the diff is rotting away on one side is this common thing.not leaking on the plugs

Yes the later axles are not as good as the earlier ones, Blocky10 has just changed his for the same reason, picked one up from a local scrappy, Rick

Can i put old type axle on with out any modification

You will probably need to change the front diff aswell because I think the ratios are different, that's what blocky10 had to do with his :thumb2

Was that not because Ian's is Auto and that is reason ratio's were different, Rick

Yes Rick. The c200 diff is different for auto, manual and 2.7 to 3.0.
I had this info that was backed up by Mental Micky on the faceache forum.
All earlier diffs (the manly man's one), are the same ratio apparently, except for the petrol.

That's how I read it, yes.
If you do replace the axle, be aware there are abs and non abs versions.
