Rear arb

Hi all, been thinking of removing the rear arb. Is there any reason why I shouldnt take it off asI see a lot of people do away with them. John

You'll get loads more rear axle articulation with it off and so is a big bonus off road. If you're just doing the odd lane then just undo one end via the drop link nut. That way you can bolt it back up for road work, not that it does an aweful lot :thumb2
Also means you have no mod to declare to insurance co too

No rear is barely noticeable on road

I run none, which is very noticeable on road but still totally safe and drivable. just got me and the family of 5, loaded to the roof from stoke to Cornwall at 90mph with no handling dramas ( apart from an exploding wheel bearing, don't ask ... :doh )

Makeitfit . Might take mine off at drop link for the weekend to see the difference . Will the arb stay out of the way or could it drop down ?

easy removal and it pulls straight out without taking the drop links off.
not a very noticeable difference.

not if you just undo one side, preferably the top of the drop link then just fold it alongside the ARB and cable tie it in place, choose whichever side wants to come undone easiest, Rick

Thanks Rick will try that out on Sunday to see the difference. If vast improvement I might whip the lot off ,bit worried about insurance .

Thats what I might do with my landy. Maverick used for greenlanes as well so has to be legal....ish

Anyway the reason for undoing one end is as said above, it keeps you legal and not compromised with insurance or on road manners.
I have none at all on mine but then mine's a beast and just for offroading :sly
Easy to undo the nut that goes onto the ARB. The drop link will just hang there and not get in the way. The ARB wont fall down either as the other drop link is holding it in place.
You'll get much more articulation as a result and therefore keep drive longer etc etc

My front wasn't connected and it was like being on a boat, personally I didn't mind but passengers used to use the grab handles a lot! Lol

Just been out for a drive with the back disconnected and didn't notice any difference.

Sorry no but if you want to trailer a T2 you will need to spend a grand minimum to be safe, Rick
