Why is it 75% of Terrano and Maverick off road videos on YouTube are of them getting stuck and/or being towed out by a Land Rover, Patrol or Toyota?

Are these cars crippled because they have no LSD?

LSD does not make much difference. What lets these trucks down is the front IFS.

There are tons more!!!!! I've had enough, I brought this car because I thought it was capable :( I've been stuck a few times myself and its been really embarrassing small dirt mounds or the smallest amount of mud

I'm selling up after this winter and buying something that can tackle the brown stuff properly like a Defender or a Patrol

Terrano/Maverick Shit!!!!! :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

lsd helps no end, stops one wheel spinning out while one remains stationary, have i stumbled into a joke thread without realising...

Yeah problem is it's the one in the air that ends up spinning and the one on the floor you want to move stays put :doh

Land Rovers don't have this problem because of Difflock right?

I would be seriously embarrassed if I got stuck in those conditions.
I honestly think I would have thrashed the fella filming it and broken his camera.

front hubs not engaging, not even spinning, like driving a cortina in snow.. hang on, after it starts moving and toward the end of clip the fwd kicks in, so i suggest they dont know wtf they are doing and didnt have it in 4wd to start with

without lsd... front wheel/s wasnt turning so no 4wd going on, couldnt see other rear wheel so wouldnt rule out 1wd, dont be disheartened banshee, ive had disco's, they dont feel half as sorted in snow.

I have owned plenty of Cortinas. Don't think I would have got one stuck as in that last vid.

I was just getting all excited about the snow coming again sat down to watch some videos to find 1000's of defenders romping around in it and then the minute a Terrano smells a bit of snow it says "F this" and buries itself (

tell you what banshee old bean, that list of links you put on, each one deserved to get stuck. ryans (dads) truck with barely legal road tyres,no momentum, the prick in the red truck that went in the ruts(twat), and the other idiots! its 90% driver off road, as said, i would get a cortina over there given momentum, aim, and a chance! chin up, do a pay and play day, i'll join you, see what we can do!

Ok, I'm game for that mate, that way you can have a crack in mine and see if there's anything wrong with it

My mate who you probs know (Ben Jukes) his family live 3 doors up from you, he'll want to come too as he's just got his Discovery fixed, at least 1 of us has Difflock to pull us out :(

When and where you thinking matey?

dude, ive had landy's. he aint goin nowhere we aint!! difflock on disco means 4wd all time, not hub lock like on terry. our rear wheels are locked, least card we can pull is 3, disco 1! (i think so anyway). did you raise suspension and was camber okay afterwards?2"?

When you say our rear wheels are locked I don't understand, I've had the Maverick in 2WD both fronts on the floor, rear left on the floor and rear right in the air to test and the one on the floor gets nothing and the one in the air just spins :S

I had to remove some shims but the front is now slightly higher than the rear and since I've had my tracking done tyre wear has been non existant :D
