Rattle/tappet noise

Can anybody help?, i have this what seems to be a noisy tappet but only sounds when turbo kicks and will dissapear when you let foot off the accelerator,it used to dissapear when engine had warmed up but now does it all the time.Thers is no loss off power, engine only done 44,000miles and oil changed every six months.Any info would be welcome,thanks Mully (i have checked and searched previous posts)

Hi mully, I dont have an answer for you but I will be watching this thread, My T2 has done 104000 and now I have the tap, tap but only on start up and it disappears when the engine is warm, so I will be checking the tappets when the weather improves, regards.....bri :smile:

Are you sure it’s a metallic rattle or could it be a diesel knock that you hear, you may have an injector dribbling and not atomising the fuel correctly.
