Rattle,shaking

Ok my lwb terrano has been acting up lately. I greased the rear prop the other week. However I think the grease isn't up to the job but all I had in the grease gun. Since then I believe the grease has gone to liquid. Which has caused a rattle and the whole truck to vibrate and shake. So if the ujs have seized would this cause the truck to shake vibrate at all speeds. My mate has since told me the grease I used isn't up to the job on ujs cv joint etc.

Check your front prop, not sure what year yours is but I had an 05 plate with fixed front hubs. One of the uj's was goosed but also the sliding joint was worn too but only a tiny bit of movement but once I got over 40 the vibration came in and got worse.

Cheers mate manual hubs on mine. I'm really hoping it is the prop and nothing more serious.

Replaced rear prop that sorted rattling. Shaking was still present turns out it's the front tyre.

Cool glad you're sorted, when my front prop was poorly it really felt uncomfortable to say the least.

Did you swap tyres to check rattle then?

Alex I put a known good prop on. Old prop ujs were very notchy. Swapped wheel side to side to confirm it was that

I'd have just swapped the UJ's, it's quite a satisfying job doing those when you know how to do them, I did a set on my mate's Terrano, I did it that quick I was impressed with myself :sly

That was the plan to change ujs banshee but they didn't turn up in time. So I bought a decent prop local. I'll get the other prop sorted as a spare

Swap the wheels front to back.as the fronts wear on the edges they go an oval shape.sorted mine out:thumb2
