tesco selling the 1lt bottle for £1, i bought x55, but they had to put it through the til as x20, x20 x5,x5,x5, the lady said that the maximun units allowed through the till is in multiples of x20......oh you might ask why she didnt put it through as x20 x20 x15? i geuss her maths was not that good as i had them in rows of 9x5 plus the x1 on the conveyor belt..

don,t buy the 3lt bottles as they work out more expensive !!

asda all sold out of the 1 lt bottes for a £1

yep off to adsa and tesco tomorrow...

fill up for holiday

need something like 100 lts.

I'd sooner pay the bit extra for the bigger tubs as it takes for ever to empty all the 1L bottles and it takes ages for the tub to drain completely.

just been to asda kendal, wine for wife, beer for me and one liter bottles of rapeseed oil for the terrano.... did you know you can get 36 bottles in the old style dust bin?...not a lot of people know that, regards bri

And also you can get 54 bottles in the bottom of a standard size tesco trolley in rows of 9x6
lol.

trick for that is to quise the bottle, 3 and its empty.

then just drain the dregs into a jug and put in later ( kids job)

thats exactly what i do! my 9 year old son is a dab hand now, at getting the dregs out, hold slightly on edge and the drips run round, to the bottom and then just poor in!
,,job done

hi

only joined the site recently so not sure of my way around yet, but read some of the threads on using other oils than diesel and thought i`d ask for some advice.i have a 2.7 diesel 51 plate , not had it long its my first 4x4 and i love it. but i`ve gone from 1.4 escort to this so feel like i`ve been mugged when i fill it up. what do i need to do to use rapeseed ? other sites say you need second tanks and oil heaters and stuff (thats my tech talk) lol. is it worth doing as i used to drive quite a few miles but i`ve cut down due to higher fuel costs, any info would be great.
cheers
.

In a T2 just poor it in mate :thumb2 It'll run on anything pretty much  This time of year though you'll need to add a bit of diesel to keep it flowing nicely. I've run mine neat with no issues but I reckon you'll be having an easier life with 25% diesel mixed in.
OR as I do, run it on bio, it's 87p a litre and runs neat all year . Even last winter :naughty

Keith if you are anywhere near Rochdale there's some good bio at around 89p/L. David.

Just be carefully as friends brother got pulled and checked in east anglia where they new some1was selling bio with out the tax they then pulled people dipped there tanks and if bio was found asked for proof the tax was paid if they could not give proof then it was a £600 fine. just. to warn every1

I don't think that's right is it :nenau As an individual user one can use upto 2500 litres. The manufacturer should be charging duty and vat if he makes enough.
I'm sure it's not for the individual user.
I have been dipped locally but they're only after red diesel monkeys, now they do get a fine big time:eek:

So take a drum (205L) and don't put any in your car.

Yes that's the point when u do that u pay no tax but when u put it in ur tank u need to pay the road duty u can't plead stupid they want proof that u paid duty on it and its up to u to proof u did:doh

No disrespect but sounds like another chinese whisper urban myth to me - its always a mates relative/friend for some reason.....:lol

If Daved was still on he'd tell you that not only are they not bothered any more about checking for any form of veg oil, but I'm not even aware theres a chemical test available to them for biodiesel?

And the technical requirement is to keep a record of nothing more than the date and number of litres you used, so they aren't going to be able to demand tax receipts I'm afraid.

The penalty would be on the bloke who is making it and thats who they would be going after if they know he's doing it.

All the relevant guff is on the HMRC website, just remember when reading it that bizarrely a biofuel user is regarded as a 'producer' even if they don't.

:thumb2:thumb2

I think in this case they were after the producer who was selling on and not paying tax rather than the individual who got some. As above says they are not bothered, only red being looked for as its major crime. Any way " I made my own and less than 2499 litres sir " David

But then u have to prove ur making bio with all the crap. that goes with that but to test for bio u only need ur nose:lol the friend of a friend was my friends brother I don't need to make anything up just letting u no what happened to my mates brother..:thumb2
