I have water dripping from the roof switch pod. Would a leaking windscreen seal at the top cause this? It does look like there is a bit of a gap for the rain to blow into at speed on the underside of the seal. I recently cleaned out the sunroof drains after that started to leak, and thought I had cured that. Could the water get to the switch pod from the sunroof?
Wondering if I should have the windscreen taken out and re-sealed with new rubbers.
Thanks chaps.

Maybe the previous owner installed " Flood lights"

:lol:lol:lol

Mine was leaking like that and mine was Rubber seal round sunroof glass can leak take glass out remove seal apply silicone than before it drys put seal back on

It could be the sunroof but I would also check the seal around the aerial as it's above the map lights if yours is mounted at the front. TBH if it was the screen i'd expect more of a damp patch on the front edge of the head linning than a drip from the lights

This might sound daft, but don't underestimate the amount of condensation that can build up under the roof, on cold steel, especially now th cold weather is coming and you have had a damp interior for a long time!

I have had this problem, the radio antenna was mounted on the roof above the light/switch panel. Remove access panel (it unclips see manual) then remove antenna. Clean base of antenna, gasket and roof. Refit using a small amount of silicone sealant (black if you have it) between the components and you should cure the problem. Takes about 10 minutes.

I had a similar problem it was a roof mounted car phone aerial in my case I could follow the rust stain back to the mounting. Removed aerial fitted new gasket and siliconed the inside as well.

Thanks for the jokes chaps. It is defo the rubber seal around the glass, my aerial is at the rear. Cheers for the help. Found this handy website. http://terranoirk.ru/man/R20/bt.pdf
Mike.

no worries mine leaked there when I got it and like u aerial is at rear of roof took me a while to fined as every1 else was saying the sunroof drains which is common but as I have found out my car is far from common:lol

How did you fix the sunroof glass seal, did you actually take it off the glass, or did you just lift the plastic edge, and squeeze sealant under there?

I did exactly that and it worked an absolute treat

I still haven't got round to cleaning the water stain on the cover yet though :doh

If you are talking about the seal that fixes directly around the actual glass then I simply bought a tube of Tiger Seal. I pushed the nozzle between the glass and the seal, then simply ran all the way around the glass leaving a good bead of sealant in there. Not had a drop of water leak in since.

Did you take the glass out to do this, or do it in situ?

I had a quick look at taking the seal off of the glass, but it looks like it is very well fixed, and I did not want to force anything.

I'm far too lazy for that :lol

Left it in place and stood on some steps at the side of the car. No need to remove or dismantle anything. After rain like we've had you'll probably have to let it all dry out a bit first.

Part of the reason I wondered if I would have to take it off, was the idea of trying to dry it out. I guess it will depend on the weather over the next few days, I might try and take it right off, then I can make sure everything is properly cleaned and dried.

Thanks for the clues..

Live with it until the better weather perhaps. Run some gaffer tape over it as a temp fix????
